Spring Clean Up also offers the opportunity to dispose of large limbs and brush that would be difficult to dispose of using the City's weekly yardwaste collection. ...From 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on that day, you'll be able to bring your bulky items to eastbound Erskine Boulevard just west of the roundabout for disposal. Solar Buying Co-ops -- A Green Neighborhood Council Roundtable Discussion

The Green Neighborhood Council will hold a roundtable discussion on the steps involved in forming a solar-buying co-op: what other cities have done or are doing and the lessons learned, the benefits to homeowners and our community, 2012 tax credits and incentives, installation options besides our roofs, and how other co-ops have selected installers. ...A solar-buying co-op is, essentially, a “support group” for all who are interested in “going solar” and learning from one another and from community experts how to make an informed, cost-effective purchase. ...Make Mine Solar H20 – The Minnesota Renewable Energy Society recently initiated this volume purchasing program, with the goal of installing 1000 solar hot water systems in the Twin Cities by the end of 2012: www.mnrenewables.org/MakeMineSolar

First, thank you to everyone who volunteered these last couple days to weed and cleanup the flower beds at Willow Wood’s east entrance. ...We’ve noticed people picking up trash in the parks and along the streets, maintaining the entrance at 123rd & Blondo, caring for the Esrkine Street traffic circle and the Erskine Street islands, caring for the common areas, and much more. ...As previously communicated, we planned to purchase mulch this morning and apply it to the flower beds at the east entrance (120th & Grant Street).

Both are Saturdays and we’ll be working from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each day. On April 24 the 123rd and Blondo Streets entrance will be the first to have its winter face lifted, with the Erskine Street roundabout and boulevard to follow on May 1. ... Put on your gloves and bring your rakes, shovels, trimmers and clippers to enjoy some light gardening with members of the Board and your fellow Willow Wood residents!

“The news is that much of the water works are complete, preparatory work is continuing this summer and fall, utility companies are involved, especially OPPD and the project is in the final stages of right of way acquisitions and easements in accordance with federal highway regulations. Bidding is set to begin next month on the entire project and weather permitting, road work could begin as early as this fall. ...As we've heard already, they will lower the level of the street as it goes north to Maple and smooth out the hill so southbound traffic can be seen earlier while waiting at the Erskine Street entrance.

In conjunction with the City of Omaha’s Spring Cleanup, the Willow Wood Neighborhood Association is announcing its own Spring Cleanup event, to be held on Saturday, April 25 and Saturday, May 2, from 8:00 a.m. until noon both days. ...‘Omaha citizens can now find out when and where this year’s Neighborhood Clean-Up will be available for their neighborhood by calling 444-4636. ...“Neighborhood Clean-Ups are only possible with the support of neighborhood associations and volunteers who are committed to improving the areas in which they live,” said Mayor Mike Fahey.

Currently, the western entrance to Willow Wood on Erskine Street is limited to access to or from the south on 132nd Street. ...As soon as possible after the utility work is completed, a road widening project that will extend from 132nd Street & Blondo Street to 132nd Street to West Maple Road will commence. Until the road widening project begins Miami Street will have access at 132nd Street to the north.
